In the beginning….I went straight from art school into work as a designer in print, web, and video. Climbed the ladder from junior designer to creative director, always focusing on what I thought was best for my clients’ design needs. Then my life changed. I got married, had a child, and started an online business with my husband. Suddenly, I found myself on the other side of the equation—viewing the marketplace from the perspective of a business owner, trying to stand out against the competition. Things were great for a while, but after COVID, the entire economy shifted. The online retail space became flooded, and the skills I had as a designer were no longer enough. Everything had changed.
I started analyzing metrics, learning optimization practices, and leveraging social media on a larger scale. Yet, despite these strategies, success remained elusive. That’s when I realized that the key in this crowded online space was to make a genuine connection with my audience. Once I embraced that approach, things began to improve. But then I asked myself—did I truly want to continue down this path? Not really. I’m an artist. So, I took what I had learned and applied it back to my creative pursuits. The best way to stand out, I realized, was simply by being myself—finding my passion, developing my niche, and embracing my unique style. I stopped stressing about how to promote my work and instead focused on creating art that resonated with me. I figured if it spoke to me, maybe it would speak to others as well.
Now, I bring that same authenticity to my clients. Whether it’s creating a custom illustration, designing a unique label, writing a piece of meaningful copy, or some other unique one-of-a-kind piece like a hand-painted jean jacket. I focus on making each piece a true reflection of your vision and style. My approach is not just about aesthetics—it’s about creating something that feels personal and meaningful. I work closely with my clients to ensure that the final product is unique and tailored to their needs, allowing their individuality to shine through.
